Enchanted Kingdom launches E-Kindness effort

Enchanted Kingdom embraces corporate social responsibility through its efforts in protecting the environment as the world-class theme park launches Environment Kindness.

E-Kindness is an initiative that addresses pressing environmental concerns. Through E-Kindness, Enchanted Kingdom immerses itself in programs which can provide solutions to common problems that a leisure and attraction industry player like EK confronts.

"Enchanted Kingdom's "E-Kindness" program is our simple and humble initiative to contribute the protection and sustainability of the environment. We hope that in doing so, we can make more people, particularly our guests at EK, aware of the importance of protecting the environment, not only for our generation, but more importantly for the generations to come," stated Mario O. Mamon, Chairman and President of Enchanted Kingdom.

The multi-phased shift from plastic to paper or biodegradable plastic and from styro to starchware, are principal efforts of the 16-year industry leader toward a sustainable environment for its home in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

According to Blue Reyna, Head of Park Operations and E-Kindness Committee Chair, the efforts of Enchanted Kingdom also involve trash segregation, establishment of a plant nursery, edible landscaping, constructing a rainwater collection system, the use of
environment-friendly paint, and shifting to LED and CFL lighting wherever feasible.

On September 1 to 4, EK will officially embark on its commitment to mother earth as it launches E-Kindness – Enchanted Kingdom is now “the Earth-friendly parK”. The celebration will include the EKo-Bazaar from Sept 1 to 4, the EKo-Seminar Series with environment and ecology experts, and the EK initiative for the 3Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle. The 4-day E-Kindness celebration will be capped with the premiere of Enkantada sa EK featuring Ballet Philippines world-class performers. Enkantada tells of the story of Mother Nature and the protection of the environment.
